In terms of the 400k, I would think you probably shouldn’t be holding that much in a single institution in any event if you can avoid it. And the number of people who can’t are not the ones we should be making policy for anyway.

To be honest, using the word excess actually implies that they have secured some form of insurance. While annoying, I would wager that they have simply passed that cost onto consumers (which done in this way feels wrong, but will obviously be done somewhere).

It wasn’t quiet, and actually was lobbied for heavily by smaller banks as opposed to large ones. A few 400k claims is annoying to a large institution but a few of them could nearly sink some of the smaller ones.
A better solution would be to force banks to purchase insurance to cover these things.

What kind of ridiculous mashup is this? Yes, libro means book and Cubicular means chamber or bed, but come on. Otherwise you could have words like Lamberfenestrist which obviously shouldn’t exist.
