Real People Talking Real Politics.
In Honduras, Mr. Trump has echoed unsubstantiated suggestions that a potential loss by Mr. Asfura would be tainted by fraud.

“Looks like Honduras is trying to change the results of their Presidential Election,” he wrote on social media on Monday night. “If they do, there will be hell to pay!”

By Monday evening, election officials said that Mr. Asfura trailed Mr. Nasralla by 0.6 percentage points, or 14,400 votes, with nearly 80 percent of ballots counted.

A research paper from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin finds that immigration does increase housing demand and can raise shelter prices, but its overall contribution to U.S. price growth is small, around 2 percent.

Vulcan denied to FT that Trump Jr. had involvement with the contract negotiations, as did a spokesperson for Trump Jr., who said he “had no involvement in negotiations with the government on behalf of 1789’s portfolio companies.”

This gov contract represents the largest ever made by the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital, the FT reported. This year alone, at least four 1789 companies have received gov contracts, FT reported. The firm is also a backer of SpaceX and Anduril, two long-time sellers of tech to the government.

A week later, MP Materials announced a new $500 million agreement with tech giant Apple to produce more of the powerful magnets used in iPhones as well as other high-tech products like electric cars.

In July, the Defense Department agreed to invest $400 million in shares of the Las Vegas-based MP Materials, which runs the only American rare earths mine. The unusual direct investment in the company made the government the largest shareholder in MP Materials.

She and fellow Smith team alum J.P. Cooney rolled out a new law firm this week focused on helping state and local governments fill the void created by the DOJ’s retreat from public corruption work. Gaston & Cooney PLLC will also represent the targets of criminal and congressional investigations.

... by politicians and public figures who know better,” Cooney said. “It really has no place in a civil society, and we are so inspired by the career civil servants who, under circumstances like that, go to work every day and do their job faithfully under the law and without fear or favor.”
