Per @cnn.com, “scores” protested nationwide. I’d love to know if this use of lowball denominations (dozens, scores, hundreds) is just laziness or if the media is minimizing to avoid the ire of corporate funders or this litigious administration. Thoughts?

@50501 Hands Off Indianapolis protest. Clearly thousands strong. Tally counter est. = 4,860. Local CBS affiliate reports 200-250 “at its peak.” Local NBC affiliate initially reports “dozens” (after pushback, changes to “hundreds”). How many other cities saw the same?! @allinwithchris.bsky.social

Early day authoritarianism - Throw yourself into convincing friends how bad it is, but to still have the hope and courage to resist. Go to protest afraid it will be the same 400 people, but instead, it’s 10x that! Return energized, only to find the news too cowed to report the true size. “Dozens.”

@maddow.msnbc.com Please compare this footage to Indianapolis NBC affiliate (WTHR) saying there were “DOZENS” of protestors. The organizers’ ticker counter showed over 4,800! Another media outlet posted an aerial photo from a drone that flew by before the crowd had fully formed. Maddening!

This is it. Saturday, April 5, we must rise up. Gather your friends and neighbors and report to the statehouse at noon (check local listings). Stand beside your brothers and sisters.
I know this alone won’t fix it, but a massive, unified display of urgent dissent is a necessary step in the process.
