He/him, mostly harmless.
If there's anyone left to write history books on the other side of the climate disaster era, it's sad to think that Canada will be (correctly) portrayed as villains, thanks to Carney and company.

Canada uses a "market based measurement" approach, which calculates the cost of procuring necessities. We do this because it's a big country, and prices vary pretty widely in different places. Little shocked the US doesn't do the same.

Reading his full comments, I dunno if I'd call it a rant. He makes the same points a lot of folks make. It maybe comes across as salty because it was immediately after a loss, but I think a lot of us would agree we'd prefer a grass surface.

I have to work at 7 tomorrow morning. It'll be fun. Or something.

(Actually, I think the official reason is because forcing businesses to handle physical pennies was a net drain on the economy, but that's not as poetic.)

It actually doesn't, if you pay by debit/credit you still pay the exact cost, to the penny. We've just all agreed that in transactions involving physical money, everything is rounded to the nearest nickel so nobody has to waste their brief flicker of consciousness counting out pennies.

Looks cool. Is it going to be available on Steam?

On my (low end) desktop, it's annoying but not yet unmanageable. They have promised it'll get worse.

If I wanted to extend a laptop's useful life, I'd switch to Linux.

Not the exact same. Now he has a lot more money, and a really sweet taxpayer-funded pension.

The one I've seen close up is a subset of the FM subreddit. I'm told there's also a nexus on X, but I don't go there any more so that's second hand.

It's a rating-bombing campaign orchestrated through various sites. Dunno exactly what the demand is for it to stop.

That's been in the game forever. It's because the match engine that determines the outcome of actions in the game is independent of the display that shows you the game, so sometimes the latter doesn't match the former.

A dedicated fan of Taylor Swift.

Bundle of Holding has a pretty cool Champs 4e bundle in their store, so I have to imagine there's at least some folks out there playing it. We always had fun with the game.

The really depressing part is that we could power those data centers no problem, with a decade or two of building electrical infrastructure and developing solar power. But we won't because they want their toys NOW.

I guess that explains why Maps has been getting a proper rollout.

I'm no Ford supporter, but if Alabama or Vermont posted an ad that portrayed someone who was famously for free trade speaking against tariffs, I think we'd say "yeah, that tracks" rather than characterizing it as shit.

So by the time he's done, we won't even be able to call them the Barca U40s any more!
October 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM
This is what, the third time he's "terminated all trade talks?" It just means he thinks he can get Carney to cave on another issue.
