I'm not big into St. Andrew's Day as a thing but would appreciate it as a buffer holiday against the Relentless March of Christmas

This is precisely what I was worried about before and why the *context* in which digital ID is being introduced actually matters - anti-trans organisations absolutely see it as a way to undermine the GRA even more, and to provide a way to make the upcoming EHRC guidance more enforceable

whenever folk talk about how different Starmer and Blair's policy approach to immigration is, they're not wrong, exactly, but this kind of stuff about asylum seekers keeps rattling around my mind as important for how we got from there to here.

The art in the Star Trek Adventures RPG can be variable but "Klingons and Andorians playing ice hockey" is both delightful and my primary example of how the game just Gets trek as a whole

Example was given here, which does sound like it was unpleasant and the kind of thing you don't want to get to the ears of the hirers-and-firers, but I'm unconvinced that this is something purely aimed from the grad student left

Beyond everything else, despite any quibbles i have with yimbyism as a movement the one thing I would describe as a red line for them is urban densit; putting "these guys want to build big single family houses instead because it will help fertility(?)" under that umbrella is just... wrong?

"we paid for Angela Rayner's education" is of course a world-historically stupid thing to say, but it did lead me to finding out that yer man's private school fees were paid because his dad managed to charm his way out of an intellectual property theft suit from the guy who wrote Paddington

It would be extremely unfair to suggest that a think tank founded by two Tory MPs and a Tory councillor who became an MP, whose director is a Tory peer, and has a rotating cast staffing Tory administrations might have anything to do with electoral politics. They're just interested in ideas.
