This is actually close to how I have set up my house.

I know it's a bubble, and I don't care.

I didn't end up liking this as much as I had hoped, for spoilery reasons, but it was still an okay read.

Now moving on to Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro, which I always meant to read, but somehow never did. I hear it may provoke lots of feels.

There is a reason I don’t live in Wisconsin though, cool people not withstanding.

I still have a baby pumpkin by the front door, but another neighbor gave it to me so I have to keep it on display, right?
I have gone through my Christmas stuff already, but only for planning what will go where.

Sorry to get on a high horse, but this is a sore point for me, I guess.

15 years later, and I still remember the look the HR person gave me when I showed up for work on time that Monday morning.

Fair point, but I still think we shouldn't judge how other people deal with tragedy, especially on this scale.

I can't stand Bailey, but I have to give him grace on this one.* I was back at work in Palo Alto 3 days after my father died in Tucson. It would maybe have been less, but I was in Tucson and it was a weekend.

Everyone handles grief dfferently.

*Until he starts using it in his campaign, of course

I don't know--the 50-60 hours I spent dpoing research when my COBRA insurance was expiring may have been the best part of my year, especially after I discovered there is basically no one who covers Stanford medical for retired/non-employed people.
Okay, maybe Mexico with you was better, but still.

And I love you for that, of course

I actually had pumpkin curry for dinner tonight, and ddidn't even think of that. Throw in a Trader Joe's side dish, and I might just be set.

My problem is that I don't really like actual turkey or ham, so I am wondering if I can get away with making that my whole T-day meal, with maybe some Thai food thrown in for balance

I'd have leftovers, for sure.
