Hello, here is a comic I made a couple of years ago. It was my very first publication, and though I would have done things differently now, I still very much love this little gay story.

Page one of Debt, showing Valdis, an elf, picking herbs in a field. Her beast of burden grazes in the background. She’s alerted by a sound, a corvid that sits on top of a very wounded woman. Valdis chases the corvid off, and loads the woman onto her beast of burden, taking her home. Page 2. A cry of pain comes from Valdis’ house, where she’s patching up the woman she found earlier, now conscious. The patient is not exactly happy, growling at Valdis, but Valdis will have none of it. She explains that the woman should be thankful she patched her up at all, especially without payment for her services (hinting that Valdis is a healer). The woman, a buff, barbarian looking unit, surprises Valdis by speaking for the first time. She says she owes payment. Page 3 shows the passing of time, in which Lyr (the wounded woman), performs acts of service and calls them “payment”, for Valdis’ help. In the first panel, it’s catching fish with a spear while standing naked in the middle of a pond, the second has Lyr using her returned strength to chop enormous amounts of wood, the third she plows the land, and the fourth, she protects Valdis from a pack of wolfish creatures. All of course, as payment. Pge 4. Valdis is working on a potion, and is startled by Lyr calling her name. When she goes to see, she starts telling Lyr she doesn’t need anymore payment, but Lyr stands in front of her door with her big arms overflowing with wildflowers. This time, it’s not payment. This time, it’s a gift. There’s a shift in both of them, and they both blush. Valdis accepts the gift, and the page ends with her putting flowers in Lyr’s hair. Which is very gay. The end. Thank you.

There is more text. “Prove it. Prove it to us. How do you know? But are you sure?”This refers to the part of the process that’s incredibly painful, and felt for me like I had to prove time and time again that I know who I am, which frustrated me to no end, it felt infantilizing. The image was made out of frustration and pain I currently experience, waiting for trans healthcare.

A party of adventurers stands in front of a looming, evil looking castle. The party Bard slyly verbally pokes at the party Knight, and the Knight promptly rushes into said castle while the Bard and the party Rogue remain outside. The Rogue questions the Bard’s apparent plan’s validity. The Knight kicks in the door to a room in which the Villain resides, ready to fight. The Villain is momentarily confused, holding a letter that implies the Knight wants to confess their love for him, so he sits, in his chair, in an open bathrobe drinking a glass of wine. The Knight has a moment of “oh no he’s hot” but draws their blade, and the two of them fight. The page is overlaid with conversation between Rogue and Bard, who lets Rogue know that this was all part of his plan to make Knight and Villain “resolve the pining and tension between them” The fight is over, the room is upended, Villain and Knight are exhausted. Villain asks if this (the fight) was what they meant with their letter, and Knight (rightfully confused) says they never sent Villain any letters. Villain hands them the letter (clearly sent by Bard, hearts and xoxo and all) and Knight goes so red they might spontaneously combust, realizing the setup. It’s Bard’s doing. And the two of them realize, they have a thing in common. They both can’t stand Bard. The shared annoyance lures the two of them closer to one another, until finally, Bard’s plan succeeds, and they fall into each other’s arms and “resolve the tension”. Later, aided by bisexual castle lighting, Knight emerges from the castle, disheveled and blushing. Bard and Rogue high five in the background. Do they still have to fight Villain? Probably.
