The print head moves out of the way for each frame. This adds a bit of time to the print but makes for a more satisfying video. I can be done without the move.

Mostly yes. It takes one frame for every layer and the height of the model and layer height determines the number of frames. Then I take the video and usually increase the speed and and the reverse for effect
