Could not agree with this more, spot on. I don't think Mason is perfect or blameless, nor the players, nor Bilkul, but there's still a long way to go. We collectively seem to have forgot our recent history/context as well. Ah well, great win, and a week off before it starts again next week!

Yeah agreed, especially as Griffiths has played well so far this year and like you say, he's come through our academy. I do understand the frustration, and I suppose hindsight is a wonderful thing as we won, but the chants did feel a bit OTT in my opinion

He's one of those players that gets better in the mind of supporters the less he plays. We've got no idea whether he's any good or not but like you say, he's become the answer to all our problems for some!

That's a good summary yes. Their temporary/loan deals also not very good!
November 30, 2025 at 10:36 AM
Yeah I get the feeling he wants to play Collyer more, but can't trust him to not get injured. We need reinforcements in that area, Diakite solid but not creative at all

Even if he's on half his wages, we've still got to get rid. The last relic of the Downing era and stupidly long contracts. And cross our fingers we can uncover some more gems

I don't want to write Bany off just yet but it's not looking good for him. I think in general, our recruitment has been solid enough since Bilkul bought us, but some (Bany, SIJ) do leave you scratching your head. Par for the course I suppose

Yes agreed. Can never question our away support but our home does leave a lot to be desired at times. Home support also a bit more entitled and want to be entertained

Yep agree on all three, shake hands and move on. I think they're going to try and sell Dike in January, can see a move to the MLS ahead of the world cup happening. I suspect moving all three on will save us a pretty penny, can see them each being on at least 20k a week

Yeah fair point on formation. Thought Bielik was very good, and Phillips being injured might give him an opportunity to cement his place for a bit. I'm not Grant's biggest fan and think he flatters to deceive, but a better option atm than SIJ

Agreed, was really disappointed with the attendance. Said to my dad and brother it felt like a midweek game. But, people will stay away this time of year if performances and results are poor
November 30, 2025 at 8:48 AM
I should add, Mason clearly got it completely wrong pre-game, compounded by the mix up for the first and a JG mistake for the second. SIJ and moving MJ mind-boggling. But, he corrected it. Price also needs dropping/resting, he's become a passenger. Some time out might help him #wva
November 30, 2025 at 8:46 AM
Agreed. I'd send both SIJ and Collyer back, they just haven't worked out and frees up more loan spaces. I did wonder whether they'd recall Whitwell, who is doing well at FGR and could improve our CM options

be when The Hawthorns is united and vocal like it was second half, but also nowhere more toxic when it turns. The "not fit to wear the shirt" chants were very harsh, as was "sacked in the morning", & although frustration completely understandable it's escalated rapidly imo. We need to be better #wba

Going to more of a 3-5-2 formation paid dividends. I'm still in the "Mason in" camp, and probably will be unless we're on serious danger of going down, but mucking MJ about is not helping anyone. Pleased for Heggebo, and Maja looked more interested second half as well. There's no better place to...
November 30, 2025 at 8:29 AM
Don't disagree, and I do think Mason, and to an extent Johnstone, make a rod for their own back. Thought Bartley's comments were interesting, about not trusting the bench. Harsh on Diakite as I think he's solid, but I can understand the rest. Maja disinterested, Dike/Bany/Collyrr made of glass

It back in the second half when we lose control. I've seen a post on X from a neutral that said we aren't fit enough, & that's why we struggle to maintain. There might be something in that TBF, but injuries/suspensions have restricted us. I'm still Mason in but we need a run of results pronto #wba

Having listened to RM's explanation I feel a bit for him. Often accused of not being proactive, he saw something, tried it, and didn't get chance to properly try it. Hindsight is wonderful, but think his inexperience shows there - stick to what's working when winning away to top of the league! #wba
