Congress made themselves irrelevant by enabling his appointees. Now he just disregards them entirely. I don’t think Congresspeople realize yet that they have no power now. They remain as an illusion of representation.

I keep telling my deeply religious Christian friends: The separation of church and state protects your religious freedom. When you break that so that yours is the state religion, the door swings both ways. The government will be in your religion, dictating it. The founders knew this.

The ulterior motive is also to let the people who always scream “liberal indoctrination” take over education at the state level, privatize it for their monied cronies, and/or inject it with Christian indoctrination. We’ve witnessed school boards around the nation being taken over by MAGA activists.
