I do have a question for the devs , Apple rejected this due to ‘copycat’ but all I’m doing is pulling the data and images from the official API , no data is shipped with the app . #AppDev #AppReview

I got a full and detailed response , this as you can see from the screenshot is running DeepSeek-r1-distill-llama-8b locally on my Mac Mini .

Okay, so as reading continues, there wouldn't be any real benefit to the extra CPU/GPU cores, as they aren't used and there is the loss of memory for system overhead. Seems spending the £2k on one M4 Pro may be the way forward with 64GB of unified memory as there is no M4 Max in the mini (yet).

Update : it appears you can have a front end website , and an admin panel for users. You can’t actually have users or a user panel .. I wanted a site showing all the local farmers using API key and allowing farmers to register .. looks like it’s working and then error loop on allowing creation .

Agreed, i'm currently trying some LLM Powered coding by Bolt and Replic and they both get only so far and then fall over ... Everything looks super plain to. They just regurgitate code and struggle with anything that doesn't respond as it expects .

I’m of course 100% expecting to need this possibly rewritten by a human dev , but this gets me in front of the bank and an investor .. main issue I see was hardcoded plain text password as the code flew by .. does say hashes in final app but I wouldn’t risk it ..
