just an addition to reiterate: i’ve seen some claim that this is harder to pull off on VGen and Skeb, so if you have either of those accounts then it’d be easier to prove your case

PayPal seems to be the finicky one that scammers usually try to target because it’s harder to prove on your end

i’m not blaming the artist or saying they’re foolish, but i’m hoping that the artist will be OK and have their PayPal unrestricted soon

hopefully they can better protect their work, because their art is genuinely really cute and it’s terrible this happened at all

this is a very common way to screw artists over and have them lose access to their PayPal accounts (like this artist has now a restricted account because of this) and lose whatever money they would’ve gotten from this commission
