Retro Man. Oil stick on paper shopping receipt from Blackpool, UK. I was a warm, sunny day, and I needed a cap. 2025. The figure was just what came out of starting to make shapes intuitively. Then I thought, oh, Retro Man.

Dark, orange paper shopping receipt used as a canvas for black oil stick drawing/painting. A large circle "head" at the top, lines going down from there form a body and arms, and a square and triangle shape in place of "hands". When I was done, I thought it looked like an old-fashioned generic man, maybe from the 50s, carrying perhaps a briefcase and lunch bag.

Something I came across while going through photos today. From 2023. I've called it a couple of different names. This file says "Neighborhood". It's an experimental photo using a kind of random ICM technique.

Postcard art from 1986. I was "always" drawing on something back then. Thank you to my friend Doug Pressley for saving this and sending it back to me digitally a year or two ago now.

An old postcard with a postmark of Raleigh NC June 1986. There is a stamp by Goodwill Industries above the address space. I drew in colored pencil and black ink a variety of inverted crosses, skulls, chains, and a girl with a yellow and orange mohawk. Cartoon style. Doug's address was on the card, so I removed that in a photo editor.

Vertical abstract photograph in white, grey, black, blue, and brown shades. Without giving away what it really is, there are rectangular shapes of brown and black at the top, right, and bottom with a possibly shiny, mottled, grey background. There are white dots throughout that have a 3-dimensional quality. Lines from the bottom and right are also of this same appearance. As well as a circular shape at the top. You MIGHT see a face, people, animals, a heart, or a familiar reflection. You might see familiar materials.

Even put my little signature on there like I used to do.
Drawing on heavy A6 paper. Pencil, ink pen, colored pencil. Minimal mid-century style multi-colored shapes created from one continuous, curved line with one small addition outside of that. Layered bold colors and black, smudged edges.
