Some of my all-time favorite comic book covers are by Jim Steranko. He told me that Stan Lee wanted him to take over X-Men an an attempt to kickstart flagging sales. Jim said, I won't do it with that lousy logo, and he designed the snappy new one that you see here. It remains in use to this day.
