Middle managers and CEOs freaking out right now, as their favorite Sycophantic Text Extruding Machines can't regurgitate their geniusness.

The primary website people use to check if a website is down is also affected by the #Cloudflare outage. 😅 It would be quite funny, if it wasn't a reminder of everything we take for granted when building our digital experiences.

Talking about the frail infrastructure of the web. Nothing showcases the issues with concentration and dependency like a good old outage. #Cloudflare

If you ever needed a reason to stop using Instagram, forced “ad breaks” are it.

To me this is the proper official #MozFest closure/wrap-up panel.

Today I’m attending the 4D Conference in Barcelona—feels nice to join a digital rights event without taking a flight for a change.

This morning starts strong with @rashaar.bsky.social presenting on the state of affairs of EU regulation and the road ahead to hold Big Tech accountable.

And of course there are never clear definitions or boundaries tied to the concept. His answers to investors during the recent earnings call are even worse. "building something that is fundamentally smarter than people" 😶‍🌫️

Is it me or does this come off as pretty mafia like? You either buy into my vision for this tech or you'll end up being an outcast.

I guess you can imagine which CEO said this in their recent earnings call last week.

Just watched @abeba.bsky.social's keynote at "AI for Good", absolutely killed it.

Genuinely neat and useful feature, but I'm begging reporters to add *at least* some nuance.

Text recognition (OCR) has been around for years. Perhaps we can tone down a bit tech companies' ✨ magical innovation ✨ PR.

The funniest thing is that probably no one that read it went ‘jeez, this doesn’t sound like them’.

Wait, but surely Meta conducts human rights impact assessments on targeted advertising?!

Don't be silly...

Today at @sdgbenchmarks.bsky.social we're launching the fourth edition of our Greening Digital Companies report, monitoring emissions disclosures and climate commitments of the 200 most powerful global tech companies.

Twitter used to be at the top of the ranking in 2020 and 2022. But post-Musk's acquisition the company has fallen off a cliff on several transparency areas. X didn't even publish transparency reports for more than two years.

Just take a look at the score changes since 2022:

We're also able to compare public vs private companies, due to the assessment of TikTok and X (formerly Twitter). There are serious concerns about governance shortcomings.

Chinese companies had the greatest improvements (although starting from quite a lower baseline) and there are some promising developments.

It's the first time we see clear human rights commitments from Alibaba and Tencent (!).

Also a sneak peak of the "fall from grace" from a certain platform...

Nooooooo!

I hate this timeline. Can we go back to when the internet was fun?

As things go back to normal, my UDM Pro reminds me of what felt like the start of a @stephenking.bsky.social novel. #Apagón

It's not that nobody noticed, it's that hardly anyone watched it. 42k views on YouTube since it was published two months ago...

It's also not particularly fun or interesting to capture attention, much like any other AI slop.

I guess Apple had already called dibs on Spike Jonze.

Today's my favourite festivity in Catalunya, Sant Jordi, their unique take to celebrate World Book Day.

People stroll around the city looking for the perfect book and rose to gift their loved ones 🌹🐉

From Taiwan back to Barcelona and home for a day before attending Mobile World Congress, navigating all the new buzzwords and narratives that companies are coming up with, as telcos emphasise their strategies to face the growth and power of Big Tech platforms. #MWC2025

Nǐ hǎo, Taipei! 🇹🇼

First time in Taiwan and couldn’t be for a better reason. My favourite conference of the year is just kicking off; if you’re around for @rightscon.org say hi!

I've lost track of the amount of times during this past decade that I wanted to hit my head against the wall because of how inane the tech industry actually is.
