In naming this special issue ‘Future/Tense: A Sociology of Temporal Dis/Order’, we evoke the troubles & tensions the future can bring, and the ways the future can structure & dissolve our individual & collective hopes, fears & plans for us, the world, and generations to come. doi.org/10.1177/1440...

Will be interesting to see how the Australian Sociology community uses social media at this year's #TASA2024... Already seen more posts about it on LinkedIn than Bluesy... Anyway, if you're going, I look forward to seeing you IRL 😊

Heading to Perth next week for #TASA2024. Who else is going? I'll be speaking, listening, chairing and convening panels (as well as bravely smiling at rooms full of people I don't know / taking deep breaths / getting lost). Say hi here so we can say hi there!

Beautiful beautiful Queenstown. In town for (half) marathon weekend. Despite a pretty disastrous training run-up, my legs carried me all the way to the end and I even enjoyed it. Sorry to everyone I’ve been whinging to about my various injuries and anxieties! 🏃🏼‍♂️ ⛰️ 🍷

Coffee number three for the day. Virtually unheard of for me but worth it for a quick day trip to Melbourne for the AusMob Challenging Mobilities symposium. Futuristic visions of cars and cities; tailgating, deer paths and mountain biking; and fish markets in flux - and that’s only session 1!

If you’d told me 2 years ago that I’d be able to run 1000km in a year, I’d have laughed in your face in quite a rude manner. And yet, here we are. Challenge completed. And all while (some of) the jacaranda blossom is still on the trees. 🏃🏽‍♀️ 💜
