Grateful this week for growing up with books. At home, we had spelling bees, quizzed each other from the dictionary, and traveled the world in stories. Got in trouble at school for reading during class. That early love of words shaped my writing, and it still feeds me every day.

What about you?

Nothing like a double rainbow stepping out of Whole Foods lugging a shopping trolley full of groceries! I'm avoiding backpacks for fear of another fall (broke my wrist a couple weeks ago tripping on something with a very heavy backpack that sent me flying). Not good for #writers #editors

I wrote this in 2017. It was what I saw coming. It’s what I’ve feared. It was a warning. I couldn’t make it to the protests today, so here’s my protest. Skip Amazon, grab it on Smashwords. #Resist

I’ve imagined all sorts of fictional scenarios while watching this building go up. A guy rappels down the side or swings from the crane. Está loco! The site manager, a woman, grabs him. Whoa! It’s her ex. She refuses to talk, so he does it again... Flashback: What happened?🤔

Did you know that Himalayan pink salt contains microplastics? I didn’t until two minutes ago. It's one of the perks of content writing and editing: learning stuff I wouldn't know otherwise.

Consuming microplastics? Investigation of commercial salts as a source of microplastics (MPs) in diet
The omnipresence of microplastics (MPs) in marine and terrestrial environments as a pollutant of concern is well established and widely discussed in the literature. However, studies on MP contaminatio...

"Moist" has got to be the worst word ever. "Her eyes were moist as he finished the story." Just say dripping. Wet. Blurred by tears. Brimming over. Anything but moist. Eyes are always moist unless you have a dry eye problem. Skip moist forehead or moist underarms, too. Just say it. Sweaty! 😁

Oh, my! What have we here? A grammatical error on a sign at Trader Joe's? I nearly rammed my cart into someone as my jaw hit the floor. 🤣

Can you spot it?

Spring has sprung. It's springing. Having sprung, spring flowers are springing up. It has been springing. It will have been springing for three months in June. In July, I can say, "Spring had been springing" and "Spring will spring again next spring." Did I miss anything? 😁 #editors #writers

Content writers: If you use AI, you have to edit it.

"Although once viewed through the lens of moral panic, cannabis has become a widely accepted method for managing stress, treating symptoms, and even improving sleep quality."

This is great news! I use Gimp for almost everything I create that goes with my writing like book covers and you-name-it. But it's kind of... well, unwieldy. Canva is okay but basic. Do you use Gimp? Do you like it? #writers #authors #creatives
