(from computer browser):
On the left column, switch from your INBOX to ALL MAIL.
In ALL MAIL, click the box next to SELECT ALL.
In this view, the Select All 100K conversations will show up. Select that.
Then select Mark Read. It took about an hour for mine to process.

I ended up with 45000 unread emails from my old promotions folder ugh! But I found a workaround to mark them all read at once!
