Current piece, “Pressed for Help” on display at Chimaera Gallery in the group show, “Beg, Barter, Steal”. Show is up until Feb. 22nd.
Mixed media art installation that contains three elements. Top element is an iPad recording audience members who get close to the piece that resembles a Target checkout security camera, a 9inx21in clear case with 10 locked compartments that contain paper mache miniature replicas of the most popular items that are locked up at big box stores. Final element is to the right of the case is a red button that loudly dings to alert the gallery assist for help. The piece is inspired by the false narrative that big box stores like Target, Walmart and CVS are experiencing high volumes of theft when in actuality they are stealing time and wages from us and their staff.
