I didn't cover it in the article, but it turns out the problem was that the port labels on the back are all gone. I was plugging my mouse into the sound box output - plugging it into the keyboard mouse port made it work! Thanks for reading

I did HyperCard a lot as a kid. Let me know if you want tutorials or anything. @ericsedge.com is also pushing HC into new and strange places.
