Short-sighted POV. In exchange for assistance, we had the loyalty of these countries. We cut them off, China and Russia step into the void. Also a lot of the aid we provided was in the form of agricultural products that the govt bought from US farmers. These farmers just lost their best customer.

The tariffs that Trump imposed on Canadian products are unfair and uncalled for. Wanna retaliate in a way that Americans will notice? We'll know who to blame, and it won't be Canada 🙂.

This is indeed a national emergency. Someone not elected by the people nor vetted by Congress now holds the purse strings of the federal government.
Among other things, he can now decrease, delay, or cut off Social Security benefits that millions of Americans rely on to survive....
