What's terrifying is that we have only had seven and a bit months of this US Presidential term. Three years and five months to go.

Throwback to 35 years ago. Working on my history dissertation while listening to BBCTMS. Only in those days James Hinton was doing the marking rather than the secondary source.

Just a little concerned for those with the surname King. Hope they won't be deported.

My Aunt Mary said "growing old isn't for sissies". She also asked "Who cares for the carer?" She understood that being a carer wasn't for sissies either.

I was going to make Irish wheaten bread bit Sainsbury's was out of wholemeal flour.

Just checking that there isn't a lockdown that I have missed?

That moment when you find out that DWP hasn't got the attendance allowance form you sent in 2 months ago...

I was thinking that it's not a bad life to be a cat. Sleep at night, doze during the day, display affection, food is served and you yell when something displeases you. Or am I describing a nonagenarian?

Oh blimey. Melodrama is alive and screaming on #thearchers

I am going to try listening tonight for the first time in ages.

The carer's dilemma. GPs talk to me but I can't get the NHS App as there are GDPR regs so Mr R needs to sign.

Mr R can't remember how to & surgery no longer accepts prescription forms. He hasn't seen a GP for 2 years. He won't go to them & GPs don't come to us.

Forgery?

The Historian's grumble:
'And while conversation at meetings must have disclosed an abundance of information..., the secretaries were not obligingly indiscreet enough to record it for posterity. '

Hillyard on 1930s Writers Circles. Thankfully we have @massobsarchive.bsky.social & Observers who did.

Interesting choice to wear orange on Great British Menu. Has the stylist done homework on July 12th or the Orangemen?

Mr R's latest question is "What are you doing with your life next?" This is a little tricky to answer for 3 reasons.

1. I don't know
2. He has a point but discussion on the subject is short lived due Alzheimer's
3. He is mainly concerned about what happens when he dies.

Sydney and Darwin have learnt to social distance. I haven't dared tell them that there's no need without a pandemic.

As a middle-class woman of a certain age, I support #masterchefprofessionals continuing for the sake of the chefs who have worked so hard. I do feel queasy watching as I find I am looking for inappropriate comments.

Hope @bbc can find a food expert who isn't a chef or a critic.

If carer’s allowance is £81.90 a week for 35 hours caring that’s £2.34 per hour.

Do Ministers realise how complex the system is to claim benefits even attendance allowance.

Until social care becomes a focus or part-time working gets easier, many of working age will be unable to. Also, the pressure to return to the office, means those who need flexibility can't work. #carer
