Like the thalidomide scandal from the 50s and 60s, we as a community should learn from such scandals and better ourselves. And build trust with the public in condemning such behaviour openly.

It is an enigma to me how so few of the professionals in my field have heard about this case, despite the impact, as it can teach us a lot about why ego has no place in science and what harm dishonesty in science can really cause.

Also, we will probably change things up a bit and try to get in shorter stories but therefore at a higher frequency. So stay tuned!
