I see the charm in the abstract! But I just cannot get over the fact that it's about a guy who destroys a woman's livelihood and we're supposed to still root for him after that.

Such a different experience than the film, darker and more straightforward about its noir trappings. Reading it a couple years back was a real trip.

There's a documentary about sheep ranching, SWEETGRASS, and my main takeaway from it was that sheep are stubborn assholes, especially when you get them into a group.
