Fridays are for Pilates & pottery. Move the body, still the mind. Best way to spend my day off.

We took a much needed breather this week. Soaked in sunshine, ocean air, and the company of good friends. #smalljoys #santacruz #california #reset #beachlife

Keeping my head in the writing & my hands in clay. I’m here for joy & wheel thrown plant pots today. 🎨

It seems like a very good day for cute cat pictures. Here’s mine.

Shortest day? Sleep it away.

Happy Solstice & Merry Yule from me and the snoozle crew.

As with editing, trimming is where the real magic lies. But for first drafts, these don’t suck. I’m getting the hang of this new clay. Heavy on the grog which means resilience—and very smooth hands.

Hit my writing goal, made handouts for my Yule class this weekend, then went to the ceramics studio to play with clay. Making watercolor palettes for myself & others because art is resistance.

Me* after hosting 13 people for Thanksgiving dinner. Excellent food on the table and great conversations about books and movies around it, but it was a looong day and I’m wiped out.

Good morning from the garden.

Hello, April! 🌱

Double Delight is my favorite rose, and so aptly named. Anyone else a fan?

Yay, spring! 🌱🌷

I went out to the garden and pulled whatever was ready before the atmospheric river started moving through. This plus a colander of arugula and two spindly but about to bolt heads of romaine. Anyone else doing a winter veg garden? How’s it going? 🌱

Hey, garden sky! I saw these bushes blooming like crazy all over Santa Cruz. Anyone know what they are? The free plant ID app I downloaded is worthless. 🌱

How my weekend went. Yours?

Good morning from the only rose currently blooming in my garden, a sweet little mini I rescued from the grocery store discount rack years ago. It blooms endlessly in gratitude. 🌱

I do not recall the name of this sage. Bought it because it was on the winter bloomer table at the herb farm and I have no regrets. It’s a pop of sunshine on gloomy days and the hummingbirds love it! 🌱

Winter garden doing its thing. We have hard hardly any frost this year, so aphids are still an issue but at least the white flies are gone. Crossing fingers for at least one good cold snap. Need that celery to sweeten up! 🌱

First read of the year. What a fantastic and heartwarming romp! I loved this crew so much, I can’t wait to spend more time with them. Heading to my local indie today to order the next two books. Thanks, @jessiemihalik.bsky.social for kicking my reading year off right.
