The Senator who wanted troops used against Domestic protesters doesn’t seem like a go to guy on the legal uses of deadly force

It’s a virtuous cycle. Don’t do anything to offend the wealthy donors so they keep providing the donations that go towards making these consultants rich.

I think the price of this endorsement was the pledge to retain the police commissioner.

You know what was different? the thousands of dollars that COVID relief and the expanded CTC were putting into the pockets of millions of low and moderate income families went away. High prices hit a lot harder when your disposable income falls by 5-7%.

I take your point but the bottom line is the strategy wasn’t successful, given a choice , swing voters didn’t respond to Clinton’s centrism and his 43% was appreciably worse than Dukakis 45.6%
March 13, 2025 at 2:09 PM
First let’s dispense with the myth that the Clinton/Carville strategy was some kind of genius. Clinton got 43% of the popular vote far less than Harris and one of the worst showings by the winner in U.S. history. His centrism didn’t gain him the so-called middle, he simply benefited from Perot
