As someone who works in a federal facility with animals, I can tell you that when they cut off our purchase card that indeed included food for animals. We are in an extensive appeal process to buy it.

Found out yesterday my contracting company can pay me through March 31. But I stand by my original statement, and if this shutdown needs to go beyond that date in an attempt to stop some of this madness I’m all for it.

As a contractor who will be furloughed and NOT paid back, I am still 100% in favor of a shutdown.
