In my 13 week course I give them week 8 out of class to dedicate time for fieldwork. First 1/3 is ethics and the why of research 2nd 1/3 is the methods and techniques and then I have them come back with some data to ‘play with’ in weeks 9&10 for coding/analysis/reporting. 😌
