On what you mentioned, yes. But sadly, punctuality is not whay they do best… lack of bus lanes puts their suburban buses straight into trafic, which is not taken into account in schedules. Makes highly imprevisible buses. My record : 2hrs10 minutes from office to home, on a 1h15 planned trip.

Montréal does have the urban fabric for good numbers, since it’s golden age was during industrialization and pre-WWII. But “new” cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary have great success under their circumstances, compared to “new” american cities.

What’s the source of the datas? I love it. I like the idea of compairing number of permits issued with total population. But what should I say to explain it’s a good approach and justify it?
