The original Double T became the official logo of Texas Tech University in 1963, but it was first used in 1926, 7/

Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said in a release from Texas Tech Athletics.

“This multi-year project will propel our athletics brand further into this new era of college athletics where Texas Tech will continue to lead at a national level.” 6/

The flyers further called for other students to speak against the new logo: “If you see this, let your voice be heard, and together we can stop this Nightmare……”
