Texas Tech Athletics stated that this new logo “resonates with our history and will define Texas Tech Athletics for future generations.”

The original Double T became the official logo of Texas Tech University in 1963, but it was first used in 1926, 7/

Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said in a release from Texas Tech Athletics.

“This multi-year project will propel our athletics brand further into this new era of college athletics where Texas Tech will continue to lead at a national level.” 6/

The change, scheduled for 2026, will bring back the traditional logo that will be as flat as your classroom discussions after the death of academic freedom. It will also be as weak as the University administration 2/
