I was fourteen years old on a two-week canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada. 8 kids, two quasi-adults as counselors. The only book we had was “The Hobbit” and we read it out loud around the campfire every night. It kindled a lifelong love of everything Tolkien.
