I am so nervous about starting and messing up...!! But I guess with stranded colourwork it's pretty forgiving unlike with lace, etc.! I have a dream of a sweater or socks with ceramica listata motifs...

Ha!! Yes! My mother's family is "Deluca" - but various relatives are de Luca, De Luca, DeLuca, etc... And my father's family has had a double surname for a few hundred years, families have either kept both and kept a space, kept both and hyphenated (like me), or dropped either one of the two names!

I don't seem to have access, but I would love to read this. Exciting not just for those of us who love small vessels but also those of us who are interested in craft production! Congratulations on the publication!

That is so kind! Sadly my current full-time job is preventing me from a lot of my academic passions but I hope sometime to join these events again in future!

On the bright side - although they don't really fully understand what I do, my extended family is always impressed and thinks I'm way smarter and more successful than I am 😂 thus very good at hyping me up!

Striking is the perfect word for it. But it seemed less abnormal when I was an undergraduate - my uni had tons of first-gen kids, kids from immigrant families, etc. Grad school is when it got a little shocking. Neither of my parents went to postsecondary and my grandparents were all illiterate.
