The fandom and its fans can be very annoying and gatekeepy, but don't let that get to you. If one of the different parts (think of them as different Star Trek installments) catches your interest just start watching (or reading, but the anime is definitely the easier gateway) that ^^

I'm not sure if you like anime/manga, but have you ever checked out JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? It's kinda hard to get in at first because it's a bit out there, but once you're in there's no escape. And I feel like it's similar to Star Trek in its overarching themes of humanity and other stuff :)

For me it was really the catalyst for thoughts I had about Facebook (I refuse to call it meta out of principle since afaik the name change came about because of the publication of the Facebook Files in 2021 leading to a drop in their stocks) since Zuckerberg announced he's basically gonna stop

I have what feels like a 1000+ word rant/essay on Facebook that I drafted in response to the tiktok ban saved on tumblr but after Trump unbanned tiktok it took all the wind out of my sails and also made me feel like if I posted it now it would seem weird. Maybe I should get back to it...
