Another batch of freshly rebuilt iBook clamshell batteries, this time with Samsung 30Q. A little less capacity at around 4,000mAh, but much better fit for the “wire” variety of OEM battery.

My wife pours the milk in the bowl before the cereal. Is this a cultural difference or is she a psychopath?

And yes she’s having cereal for dessert.

Makin’ another thing. What if you could add phone-based proximity unlock to any car with power locks, even a 30 year old Japanese sports car?

She’s sitting pretty after a throwing on Powertrix coilovers, front and rear upper control arms, tension rods, inner and outer tie rod ends, and front ball joints. Tons of work but daaaaaaamn

They aborted the first run after seeing that she was running super lean and had only 28psi of fuel pressure, then bypassed the fuel pump controller, replaced the fuel pump/regulator/filter, repaired leaking bulkheads, cleaned all the *sand* out of the gas tank, and ran it again…

Rusted, disgusting 18650s! Luckily, the controller was still functioning and the pack is charging nicely with its new cells.

Two more iBook batteries rebuilt today! This is the first time I’ve rebuilt the “wired” style pack with orange cells. It was considerably harder to do because the cells didn’t fit as nicely in the case, so some clipping of plastic tabs was required. The pile of old cells grows…

First review on the product page: PVC cutters work great on this hose.

Amazon’s “artificial intelligence”: I don’t see any reviews mentioning PVC cutters. Use swivel connectors!

“LET ME JUST CHECK THE TIME” I say, loudly, before pressing a button on my 1970s Compuchron LED watch, causing the time to flash on the watch face for less than 1 second.

My wife, in the other room, audibly rolls her eyes.

I smile.

Installing this FAST 92mm intake manifold and throttle body required the use of a hammer to get it to fit under the hood. But it’s all worth it to have more zoom zoom.

Doing strange things with tiny computers again. The HPDL-1414 bubble display feels at home in this 70s Compuchron watch, but the fact that it has an ESP32 microcontroller and uses WiFi to hit a NTP server and synchronize its real time clock really makes it feel space age.

It does well with the Mystic board swap! This one is also overclocked to 42MHz and has the 640x480 mod, upgraded VRAM, BlueSCSI so it’s maxed out. Even CrystalQuest was unplayable in stock form…
