If you're part of a community for a marginalized identity and your only contribution to that community is, "look at this hate against us I found in the wild," you are doing the work of bigots for them. You are the platforming and amplifying hate. You are indistinguishable from the bigots themselves.

If one person is having a problem, it's a personal problem. If millions of people are having the same problem, it's a systemic problem. The onus is not on the individual to squirm out from under an oppressive system; it is the system that must experience change.

I wish Elon would bring his SpaceX expertise and efficiency to Spain. I think the world would really benefit from a modernized Spanish space program.

The best thing you can ever do for yourself is to be curious. Don't just have questions: seek the answers. Embrace your fallibility as a chance to learn something you thought you already knew.

Learn how things work. How things happen. How things came to be. Always ask "How?" one more time.

A corrupt legal system can only protect the corrupt from the legal system.

If your opposition to universal healthcare is based on the idea that suddenly too many people would have access to the healthcare system, I have several questions.

Not for you, though. I need to talk to whoever raised you. It's for a "what not to do" book I'm writing.

As the federal government and its new private owners seek to dismantle unions, know this: the strength of unions used to be backed by something other than the permission of capitalists. They may not know it now, but they do not want to return to that.

Do not let that decision be theirs to make.

For no particular reason, two movies Americans should be watching in 2025 are Swing Kids and Life is Beautiful.

I'm not saying any action should or shouldn't be taken, just an observation based on historical events:

Removing all legal means of recourse only leaves illegal means of recourse.

Allowing legal recourse against employers, landlords, etc, is inconvenient for them but also ensures their safety.

If a fandom has a lot of marginalized people in important roles – either in the media or in the fandom itself – and that makes you angry enough to quit that fandom: you are making that fandom a better, safer, higher quality place by your absence.

I think it's hyperbolic to say that recent laws and rulings in America have returned women to being property.

If women were property, cops would protect them.

No group of potential voters small enough for candidates to mock, undermine, and ignore is large enough to be at fault for the result of the candidate's race.

If they could have changed the outcome, they should have been heard.

If a cause you support is boycotting <thing>, and your big contribution is telling everyone that <thing> isn't even that good or not accessible to you so you already don't buy <thing>, that's not so much helpful to the cause as it is helpful to your back's desperate need to be patted.

I have this "universal blood pressure cuff," and I don't know if I'm supposed to put it around the entire universe or if I'm supposed to just find one arm of the universe and put it around that. Also, does it need to be level with the heart of the universe? What's the allowance on that?
