A classified add in the Ipswich Journal 3rd July 1784 concerns a lost husband - Isaac Layzell of Assington. That's the next but one village to my ancestors in that era but neither Isaac or Mary in my tree at the moment. I am sad to say I can't find any more on this saga. I wonder if he came back?

If it's Bob Layzell, he's reusing a spaceship design; one of those spaceships is a dead ringer for another ship in one of Layzell's "Spacecraft 2000-2100 A.D." artworks.

Suffolk Family History Society have records of headstones in some Suffolk cemeteries including 16 Layzells. Two are at Wissington and so are in my family tree, one is at Assington, one at Westhall and no fewer than 12 at Great Cornard between 1905 and 1942.

In 1857 there were only 174 Layzells listed in the UK but in that year at least 6 Layzells emigrated to OZ and so disappeared from records in the UK. The new Australians were

Several Layzells have been well known musicians. Robert (Bob) Martin Layzell was best known playing sax & clarinet in many bands including Joe Loss before leading his own band on the Queen Mary Liner for 5 years in the 1960's with brother Tony (Rivits) Layzell & nephew Martin Layzell as drummers.

Welcome to visitors to this page. There are not many Layzells, Lazells, Lascelles and lots more variants of the name so it would be great if those of us that are checking our family history have a forum on blue sky to exchange information and help each other or just hang out together.
