I pay £450 a year for my electric cars road tax and will have to pay £600 a year to drive it now. Because I live in the countryside where we are reliant on cars it does feel a little unfair. If I lived in a city and used it once a week to go 3 miles to the garden centre then I wouldn’t give a shit.

Who already pay road tax and VAT on the electric they use, sure.

But she’ll happily pass the hit on to EV car owners already paying for the electricity they put in their cars.

Every year we host atleast 9 of my wife’s relatives but with that comes all the local ones that join us for meals too so it’s usually 20 extra mouths to feed and NO ONE seems to understand the financial implications of this! It’s like you say, not just meals but all the snacks, toilet roll etc…
