Either way, maybe just focus on making everything better for our fellow humans, even if sometimes that is something that causes us loss. As David noted, sacrifice is supposed to cost us something.

Is that because the former days are never as great as we remember? Or that present circumstances are always sufficiently different from the past that we always have to face them afresh? Perhaps it’s more philosophical discouragement of enslaving of our agency to the past.

Well, to his credit, Huff has posted that he said some things which people have pointed out are wrong, and he’s going to do a response video to himself. So, maybe some light at the end of the apologetics tunnel ; )

I subbed to Hoff a few months ago after he did a good (critical) job of reviewing extant NT manuscripts and myths. I’ve been disappointed with some of his content though; even I could tell he was overstating his case in certain areas. Then on Rogan he did the same. Hope he learns from it.

Me too! I’ve been collating semi-personal notes on this as an unfinished “hermeneutics” project www.laychristian.com/hermeneutics (Christian perspective). Realised I’d gone down a rabbit hole and made assumptions about where authority is; that’s where I now find the interesting conversations.
