New pre-print out!

🔬In this article, we explain why our clinical trial to improve the automatic tendency to approach PA failed and offer recommendations to help future studies maximise patient acceptability.

Thrilled to start a postdoc position at SCALab (France) with Prof. Yvonne Delevoye-Turrell!

Roots in the affectivism (Dukes et al., 2021), this project aims to develop a research programme around visual-auditory-olfactory environments to help people discover the pleasure of effort 🏃‍♂️

2024 Recap!
🎓 2 international conferences, 5 published articles, 1 book chapter, and a 360-pp manuscript that earned me a PhD in Exercise Psychology.

🏃‍♂️ 252 workouts, 1380 km, and countless kg lifted!

🎓 On 17th December 2024, I received my PhD in Exercise Psychology, in the same lecture hall where my journey began 8 years ago.

🤝 I’m incredibly grateful to have spent these 3 years under the guidance of Philippe Sarrazin and @bcheval.bsky.social – the best team I could have hoped for!

Thrilled to share this new article where we investigated the motivational and emotional correlates of PA and SB levels in patients

Results showed an association between higher perceived capability and positive affective attitudes toward PA with higher PA levels 📊

Thrilled to see this publication out!

During my 3 ½ month Doctoral internship with Prof. Karageorghis, I had the pleasure to run this intervention in the well-equiped lab of the Division of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, Brunel University, London !🚲📊💻🇬🇧

📄Thrilled to share this new article with such high-level colleagues!

💡In this opinion, we argue that our natural tendency to minimise effort can be overcome thanks to executive functions and affective variables, particularly at certain times in life

🧠 Can automatic reactions mirror exercise dependenc

In this new article, we explore this question and discuss the results in the light of the characteristics of our sample and the specific features of PA behaviour. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

💡 Why using R Studio for data analysis? How to get started with R Studio?

💻 Silvio Maltagliati and I hosted a "Introduction to R Studio" workshop to answer these questions (FR). Find all the resources (slides, exercises, R script, datasets) free on Zenodo: zenodo.org/records/1266...

Our new chapter (FR) "Engaging in regular physical activity: the role of positive affective experiences" is out !
We drew inspiration from the excellent textbook "Essentials of Exercise & Sports Psychology" by @ZackZenko and @Dr_LJones to transpose these perspectives into French

Happy to have presented some initial results from my latest PhD study on the association between affective responses, perceived exertion and physical activity in people with chronic disease at ICAMPAM 2024! A sneak peek here, just a few months away from pre-print👀. @labosens.bsky.social

One of the most useful skills @bcheval.bsky.social taught me during my PhD was how to manage data properly: (a) create folders and subfolders with standardised names, (b) create README files, (c) do all the data management in R.

This makes scientific collaboration and #openscience much easier.

🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️Glad to see that implementing the strategies I use in my PhD to improve affective experiences helped me reach 320 workouts in 2023 (while doing a PhD @labosens.bsky.social and an internship at Brunel University 🇬🇧)!

🎧 Specific music type during the HIIT sessions was one of the most effective!
