Stack of feijoa (Feijoa sellowiana) snack bowls. These trees don't grow particularly big and the fruit is a love it of hate it type thing. I like the taste but not the texture. The wood however is lovely. Dense and waxy with creamy pink colours. Finished with soybean oil and beeswax.

A while back @popsshedshop reached out to me and kindly offered to send me some turning blanks. When the package turned up it had a selection of choice cuts including a stunning red mallee burl.

Bonus ball. Flowering cherry with some really cool spalting around the cracks. Not a good enough piece of wood for anything else, but too nice to throw away. So it was a bit more freehand sphere practice.

Spalted sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua). Mrs Lawson Woodturning came home with this piece of wood in the back of her car one day. Put out on the side of the road for firewood it was rescued and after a little bit of maturing (forgetting about it) it spalted nicely.

Sweetgum bowl that had a crack so ended up up as a test of an idea I had. This is another one that will end up with a pot plant in it, so l'm told. Chalk acrylic paint, metallic acrylic paint, India ink and mat acrylic sealer.
