I know the AI bubble will eventually pop one of these days, but I don't know if on the other side of it I'll be able to think of the average person the same way. I've always tried the best to push back on misanthropy, but all this has really shaken my faith in many people and the power of art.

Publicly and privately, I've been trying to make games people care about in one way or another since I was 10. Was I wasting my time? I could've just been pushing out garbage at a higher rate and would have at least amused a lot more people. Why try, beyond satisfying myself?

and I guess that's just something most (or enough) people... don't really care about? A blockbuster crowd-pleasing movie people poured their blood, sweat and tears into is interchangeable with AI slop jingling keys. It's depressing.

I think these movies are absolutely perfect as an introduction point to edgier or more abstract cinema, I think it makes total sense that you'd enjoy it at that age.
