Coal puts suit on the surface of earth. When it lands on glaciers, they melt. This happens fast. Now, what I am about to tell you is amazing. We can cover the ice with silica beads and then they reflect radiation again.
A Western Colorado town built on coal has to retool again. Boom and bust stretch back to the Louisiana Purchase. The Meeker Massacre took place down the road. But coal and oil-shell have been used for 1000s of years.
