Gaming shouldn’t be about 100 hour forced game play. It should be about wanting a sense to finish it, enjoying it, wanting perhaps a sequel.
For sandbox, it should be refining the experience, play testing and bug fixing first. Visuals later. Get the build spot on and take it from there.

PS5 and Series X just feel empty. Rehashed games, nothing that jumps out and says - this is a system seller. Many first party exclusives no longer remaining exclusive.

Gran Turismo, SSX, MGS2, ZOE on PS2, Halo, Fable on XB, Rogue Squadron on GC.
They pushed those systems,were a massive leap over prev gen and either upped the genre or provided something fresh. Played all of them for countless hrs

I recall when digital was about to launch and there was the whole - prices will be lower due to no transport/pressing. That never happened.
Rarely do you see a Nintendo game on discount.
With physical media gasping its last breaths on consoles it will only get worse.
