I’ve hated Times New Roman for a long time. This is not a recent phenomenon for me. I like Serif Fonts, so I often grab Georgia (which was a gift to the internet from Bill Gates long ago). I’d like to use Calibri at home, but apparently is MS only. Any suggestions? (No Googled answers, pls.)

There’s an argument out there that once AI (AlphaGo) beat humans at Go, AI was indisputably better. Except, Janice Kim reports she can defeat other excellent AI (KataGo, which is based on the same learning systems as AlphaGo) when giving it a 42 point advantage.

Nobody tell the Supreme Court that Times New Roman is the superior font. “(b) The text … shall be typeset in Century family ( e.g., Century Expanded, New Century Schoolbook, or Century Schoolbook)”

I’m hearing a lot about a potential invasion. This link is old. And long. But, everyone should listen to this lone dissenter who complained bitterly about another war, even before we came to regret it. www.c-span.org/clip/senate-...
Senator Robert Byrd on the Iraq War
Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) spoke in opposition to the Iraq War, saying "Today, I weep for my country...No more is the image of America one of strong, yet benevolent peacekeeper."

Report are that DJT stock price has fallen.

Yahoo’s AI is saying this: “Profitability Metrics: Operating margins are severely negative at -5059.26% in Q3 2025, indicating ongoing operational inefficiencies and significant challenges in asset utilization.”

Is that right?

FYI in 1875, the Fox and Geese game enjoyed widespread popularity. It’s played 1 Fox piece vs. ~17 Geese pieces. When the Geese pieces surround the Fox so it can’t move, the Fox loses. The key for a Geese player is to use the pieces as a team. The Fox hopes to isolate Geese to take them 1-by-1.

The shutdown should pause non-essential work by government employees but according to the local news, Greenbelt’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) continues to hum with activity. This includes clearing of buildings on the campus and “divesting” of labs and equipment.

I have a prediction. Elon Musk will not get the full package, and this will be remembered as that time a failing company pretended to pay its CEO money he did not earn. Tesla will not make money of Robots or Robotaxis (because neither of these things have a government subsidy).

Years ago, I remember when my mom, a school teacher in rural VA, realized that if she had been the sole income of a three-member family, her children would qualify for free school lunch. It was something of a revelation, in part, because she had a “good job.” Who do

Frustrated with the AI/fake accounts posting on other another platforms, wifey asks, “When is it all going to stop?”

It’s not.

That company doesn’t care. You can report profanity, but not *attempted fraud* i.e. false statements in an attempt to get your private information or money.

When I turned 30 I had not yet written my first published book or my first published novel and did not know (or know of) some of the most important people in my life. I didn't know how much my life could still change, and did, after the age of 30. There is so much your life still yet to live.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

I know this is going to sound stupid, but Yahoo is better than Google. I’ve noticed that Google results have been increasingly shallow; I just did a search in Google and compared to Yahoo, and the Yahoo result was on topic for nearly every result, and sent me to in depth resources. Google … didn’t.

For fans of The Muppet Show and Harry Belafonte. He did not write Turn the World Around for The Muppet Show. He wrote it an released it on an album first. Also, he had no co-author/writer.

It's hard and you stand out there on that green, green grass, and it's just you and the ball and there ain't nobody to beat up on but yourself … It's the only game I know that you can call a penalty on yourself, if you're honest, which most people are. There just ain't no other game like it.
