This is only scratching the surface! Check out GW's long history of having _very strong opinions_ about Margaret Thatcher.

Also, if anyone has a copy of Continuum in nice condition, and is looking to sell . . . .

. . . without overstaying its welcome. Everything you want in a ttrpg/board game hybrid!

. . . but it's also a good game in its own right. I've been playing ttrpgs for decades, and I enjoyed it tremendously. It helps you tell a fascinating, emergent story, it gives the right amount of support to keep things moving without bogging you down, and it ends when the story's ready . . .

So it ends up the same for me as well! I could work my way through all that to play a flight simulator . . . or I could just play 20 minutes of Mario Kart. Time's already so limited; why not spend it playing?

Nintendo hardware exemplifies "it just works" for me. To play a flight simulator on my PC I have to mess with Joystick Gremlin, get the right HID values assigned to my joystick and throttle, fight an update that broke something . . . My son turns on the 2DS and he's playing Mario Kart.

Marker: no meaning other than drawing attention to something.

Counter: has meaning in relationship to something else. "It counts X."

Token: has meaning in and of itself. "It's a monster."

Chit: cardboard piece used in wargaming; describes a specific object, regardless of its in-game meaning.
