Just booked tickets to King Gizzard at Royal Albert Hall with a live orchestra. Chuffed.

They’re also doing a rave gig the night before, but I’m too old for that shit.

Duolingo should fire whoever decided to inject negative reinforcement into the daily practice reminders. Now I’m missing days because it’s actively making me not want to practice.

I don't mind the odd repost, but I'd love the ability to switch them off for certain accounts I follow.

Rewatching Her and marvelling at how utopian Spike Jonze paints a future with AI (despite trying to make a point towards the opposite). Theodore works as a ghost writer crafting love letters; arguably a task that forever will be assigned to AI going forward. No election tampering, fake news or bots.

They say you shouldn’t judge a friendship by the size of a wedding gift, but I’m willing to make an exception. 🤯

Jet lag is real. I’ve been up since 2 am, going on 14 hours and it’s just 4 pm. 😵

Ordering a 2TB external SSD, because apparently that’s required to fit 2 weeks worth of vacation footage nowadays.

Hawaii introduced me to moisture-wicking clothing that helps gingers survive the sun, such as rash guards and UV-resistant hoodies. Can’t find those in the UK, despite harsh UV levels in the summer.

An elderly lady staying at the same bed and breakfast as us on the Big Island introduced me to the Merlin Bird ID app, so here’s a bird appreciation thread!

Have you ever wondered how bumble bees survive the long, cold winter months? If so, check out this short web story I wrote for WWF on the subject. These critical pollinators are truly amazing animals. www.worldwildlife.org/stories/wher.... #bee #bumblebee #pollinator #insect

Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works.

Confirming that the Anansi Boys comic series and collected volume have been cancelled.

Bit bleak that the current zeitgeist of my industry is utter despair over AI taking over our jobs. Last year designers were cautiously optimistic, thinking that tedious repetitive tasks would be automated, but now it's clear where we're headed.

Echoing Reddit: Hellie is up to something. The theory that her outie is infiltrating the Severed floor seems unlikely though—why would a billionaire spy on a team of 4 innies, out of the 200 severed floors they have worldwide? (Unless their purpose is far greater than we think!)

“Kamala,” by @kadirnelson.bsky.social, would have been the cover of the November 18, 2024, issue of The New Yorker, had Kamala Harris had won the election. Read about the cover that never was: nyer.cm/0syMCVN
