Been laid up with a wrenched muscle in my back so read this straight through in two days and it was a damn good read! In my 40s when I was desperately unhappy I took up long distance walking and this book resonated with me on so many levels, definitely recommend this @phoebesmith.bsky.social

Decided to prioritise drawing over chores this morning, a habit I really must cultivate, and re-drew my favourite jug. It’s been months since I worked on my pencil skills and I haven’t got the top of the jug right, but I thoroughly enjoyed drawing it. Now to revisit oil pastels 😁

Please be kind. 12 weeks ago I started on a beginners art course. I had zero experience having not studied art at school. I’ve learned so much about colour, mixing and different formats. This is my final piece of a sea scape and tall ship, in acrylic. I’ve already signed up for next term 😁

Totally non-work related post, but enjoying day drinking with my daughter. Not regular occurrence with me but it’s been a helluva week. Changing careers at 58 and leaving the wonderful world of libraries for the brash world of trade unionism has been a shock, but, I’ve got this ✊🏻

My current non-fiction reads, I’m 9 weeks into a beginners art course and loving it so much, now I am also enjoying reading about art, too. Haven’t started Hessel’s book yet but was recommended I read them simultaneously to get the full picture #booksky

A Christmas trip to lovely wee Belfast to spend time with my partners family who have loaded me up with wheaten bread and mince pies lol. Love to spend time with a big family again looking forward to welcoming my first grandchild very soon ❤️
