My understanding was that their claim is that they’re descended from vestiges of at least three different tribal groups that banded together in the 1700s due to dwindling numbers.

Either way, I wouldn’t be whatsoever shocked if they wind up building a casino and name it after Trump.

It’s legally questionable whether the VP can actually cast a vote in a nomination process. On *legislation* they’re constitutionally required to, but nominations aren’t legislation.

It isn’t, technically. Immigration proceedings are not criminal trials - they’re civil administrative proceedings. You don’t have a right to counsel in that setting. The pretty conservative immigration bill Trump spiked last year would have changed that.
