Lars & Andy have previously said that Dortmund should always be the best of the rest in the Bundesliga, yet Berlin and Hamburg are larger cities. Equally, M’gladbach and Schalke also have strong histories. So why are none of Hertha, HSV, S04 or Die Fohlen anywhere near FCB? Is this a systemic issue?

Intrigued to hear Lars and Andy agree Dortmund should always be the best of the rest in the Bundesliga given Berlin and Hamburg are larger cities. Historically Mönchengladbach and Schalke also have strong histories. So why are none of Hertha, HSV, S04 or Die Fohlen anywhere near FCB? Is it systemic?

This is great, and it got me thinking: Are Utd’s struggles against less ball-dominant teams due to starting with essentially a rest defence approach (3 CBs+2 B2Bs+2 WBs) that then has to transition to a more standard 5-4-1/4-1-4-1, which is how most teams line-up at kick-off & is their default OOP?
