The Raven and the Reindeer (also by TKingfisher) also fits that description. It's one of her earlier works, and very much worth reading for the title animals, the adventure, and the spinning of Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen into a much more delightful tale.

Can't remember where, but I've seen literary analysis of horror tropes that suggests vampires trend when readers are fearful of the 1%, while zombies trend when readers are more worried about an uprising of the masses. Haven't seen a best-seller list recently, but vampire novels should be there ...

I wish the text version was more easily available, almost didn't buy and that would have been a loss. Truly enjoyed reading this and hope that you continue to write in that universe!

Still using WordPerfect ... Corel's WP 2021 ... still works better for me than the other word processors. And I still grumble when "industry standard" is required to communicate with other software.
